TEDxTinHau Women hits 10 this year, so we thought why not change things around a little? In conversation with our committee and speakers, we came up with Quests; intimate, expert-led workshops that will take place on the morning of October 2nd.

Touching upon a variety of different fields, here’s what we’re bringing you:

Happy Hormones: Beyond the Recipe

Cook. Learn. Nourish. Thrive

Led by Beth Wright and Aline Davies—co-authors of Happy Hormones: Recipes to Balance and Thrive—this is an interactive cooking and women’s health workshop that brings together the science of hormonal health and the joy of delicious, nourishing food.

You will learn to make a Dill Dough Loaf and a Creamy Miso White Bean Dip, both of which are famous recipes which can be found in their recipe book!

Empathy in the Workplace

Do you often collaborate with people in the workplace? Then this one’s for you.

Led by Colby Jones from Cognitive Humanity, this workshop is actually part-simulation and part-social experiment, where you will learn to unveil your biases and navigate conflict as you go through high stakes scenarios.

The Actor’s Approach To Public Speaking

Who better to teach you about Public Speaking than an actor himself?

Nicholas Atkinson brings to you a workshop that begins with a child afraid to go on stage. As it unfolds, you will find yourself becoming a part of that child’s journey, finding your voice, thinking of ways to narrate ideas, embodying different physical styles, and finally, helping the collective discover its voice and leaving everyone feeling inspired.

Under Pressure: What Happens When All Eyes Are On You?

We’ve all experienced it, right? The racing heartbeat, the nervousness, the moment right before you have to take the stage.

In this workshop, you will learn actual techniques used by athletes, performers, and speakers to regulate their nervous systems, and immediately apply those techniques the next time the spotlight finds you.

Chungking Unwrapped: A Journey Beyond Bias

Get ready to journey through one of Hong Kong’s most misunderstood landmarks.

Led by the Diversity Hub, this will be a Five Senses Tour where you will recognise and reflect on unconscious bias and assumptions, gain greater understanding of refugee experiences and resilience, and discover the rich cultural diversity that shapes Hong Kong.

Do any of these journeys catch your eye? If yes, then we look forward to seeing you on the morning of October 2nd!
