In 2020, TEDxTinHau, brought Countdown to Hong Kong, a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to tackle climate change.
The health and economic crises at the time reminded us of an important fact: we’re all part of the same fragile system, dependent on nature and one another.
To make progress on climate action we needed to collaborate on a global scale, and every community had an important role to play.
TEDxTinHau Countdown endeavored to identify bold solutions to the Climate Change challenge. Discover more about that event.

2020 speakers
TEDxTinHau Countdown featured incredible speakers, who shared ideas that could amplify and demonstrate tangible climate action solutions.
We were truly inspired by our speakers –Lance Lau, Tanja Wessels, Ollie Haas, Peggy Chan, Jonathan Cybulski and Keilem Ng .
They are passionate about the planet and full of ideas on how we can all help Hong Kong champion and accelerate solutions to tackle the climate crisis.

Focused on action and impact
Countdown is focused on five key areas – energy, transport, materials, food and nature – where actions will have the biggest impact.

Together we can help meet the goal to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world – a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone.
TEDxTinHau Countdown was a part of the week of Countdown launch events that took place in cities, communities and businesses around the world. It was brought to you by the dedicated team that has previously hosted TEDxTinHauWomen.
